well this will be my entry into the terraspace contest. the clouds is a hybrid of a scene from terragen 2 tech preview, and an image overlay of some reallypuffy clouds.
the planet is made in photoshop using textures and mercury's surface
The nebula's base is made in a fractal program called apophysis, with a bunch of hours of postwork is photoshop
stars were made in a universe program i found on the internet, but they come out pretty flat and dotty so i fooled around with them a bit
the "angels" (the stingray looking things) was an after thought, but i like having them there, if everyone hates them then i'll take them out and repost it so let me know if you dont like them
Good luck to everyone else in the contest, its about time they made it official so there will be plenty of people in it.
not shabby at all ;D
although, i dont agree with the way how the rays are colored: it looks unnatural and no light is reflected on their backs in comparison to the rest of the render.
i do like the use of a fractal for a nebula. for the nebula, it seems to look like a refraction nebula so if it's reflective surfaces were facing towards the sun it would look better. also, a darker color for denser parts of the nebula would allow the appearance of depth. good job.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
